Look what is poking through the straw. Potato vines!
We put some down on a bed of straw and covered, enclosed by a piece of fencing
When they get a little bigger, we will add another layer of straw and cover.
We will keep adding layers until we get to the top then let the vines take off over the fence.
We had a naked spot in the front yard. Thought we would give the no-dig potato planting a try

@penny eats but also, we plan on incorporating the beans and other vegetables into homemade formula to supplement the medical grade formula.
I love gardening. I've missed it. Having a ball of a time.

We have taken the side yard and made it essentially a #NoMow zone.
The clover we planted last year is full and rich and hopefully will continue to take over what is left of the "lawn". It will serve as the border to the garden. Going to over seed the clover again.
When the corn gets around 5 to 6 inches high, the beans goes in!
The rows, marked by yellow, will be raised, boxed beds for veggies. #gardening

We're using #3Sisters technique for the bulk of our vegetables that @penny eats but the remaining yard will be in the #EnglishGarden style, which has nothing to do with #Indigenous North American #Agriculture, as we try to reduce our lawn.

The ancient Three Sisters Garden method dates back to Native American culture. The trio of corn, pole beans and squash are planted together in hills, a crop management system called interplanting or companion planting
