My compulsory military service started the same year he ran away. It was a time of change, South Africa was withdrawing from Namibia. My intake never saw combat. I learnt discipline and skills I still use.

A year after my national service started, Mr Mandela was released. Six months later, my intake's national service ended 6 months early.

I remember adding the setting to add the "X-Clacks-Overhead: GNU Terry Pratchett" header to outgoing mail on a couple of mail systems at the time. Probably been removed by now, I don't do much email admin any more.

Still got it on my two general web sites though.

In my mind, this M*sk asshole is right down there with Verwoerd on the "is this thing even human?" scale. M*sk is a stain in our country's legacy and must be treated with utter contempt by anyone claiming to be a human being.

It seems Mozilla are turning horrible with the TOU of #Firefox. We have #Librewolf as an alternative, so I'm looking at that.

But this is the same Mozilla that does #Thunderbird Mail. Are they going to change the rules there too? Email is, arguably, a LOT more sensitive than stuff I do in a browser.

What alternative would be good (on Linux) for IMAP mail if they do that?

So Episode 10 of my #Minecraft #Youtube series had 3.3k impressions. That video featured me building a big South African flag with the South African National Anthem playing in the background.

Episode 11, about a week later, had 70 impressions.

I also added the tiny Straight Ally flag to my profile picture between these two episodes.

So was it building the flag of my country to the sound of my national anthem, or the profile picture change, that tanked impressions?

What a gotcha... So I set up a new web server... including firewalls rules... Including one that blocks port 80 because HTTPS Good, HTTP...

Completely forgetting that one of the sites is accessed via Cloudflare with TLS set to Flexible mode, meaning Cloudflare doesn't try to talk HTTPS with the origin server at all...

Not very "flexible" in my opinion, more flexibility would come from it trying HTTPS if HTTP fails. Or better yet, try HTTPS first and fail backwards to HTTP.

Worth a watch, I think. It takes some bravery for someone who does spaceflight videos to criticise M*sk and his terrible...
