I wanted to share that I'm running some special online sessions in NVivo training. They are 2 hours, twice a week, and run for 4 weeks. Maximum of 10 people - so small numbers.
The 4 training sessions are recorded and accessible for up to 8 weeks after the course, and the other 4 sessions are basically a Zoom room where everyone comes together and has an opportunity to work on their own data.
The aim is that people can walk away with a clear idea on how to use and apply NVivo for their data analysis.
Here is a link to the sessions:

I know there has been substantial work done in this area already by some excellent scholars.
I think recent changes in tech have changed how I think about potential uses and implications. If anyone is interested in this, please sign out.
I have ideas for a couple of projects that can be used to explore some of the deeper potential, impacts and implications of AI on qualitative research in more detail (currently unfunded).
I am really keen to explore this further, and welcome anyone reaching out. Thinking a discussion or reading group as a start - but as I said, lots of ideas! Please feel free to spread the word too!

Her area of specially is Political Science, specifically Gandhian studies, but she could include anyone from Social Sciences.
She just needs to provide potential names, institution they are from and email address.

14.11.2022 05:44@superlinguo @drdanielturnerThank you to everyone who has boosted this Toot! Some of you may not be aware, but I started a new and innovative approach to qualitative data analysis - using emoji for analysis.
I will be running a free 2hr workshop on using emoji for analysis on the 22nd/23rd of November, demonstrating with Quirkos software.
If you want to get to the heart of what analysis is about, what to understand the purpose of coding and analysis of data, and think outside the box of more traditional forms of analysis, then you are likely to get a lot out of this session.
There will be a special appearance from *the* emoji expert @superlinguo, and @drdanielturner will be hosting the session.
Last time it booked out very quickly, so do register if interested.
I would really appreciate it if you shared this with your network. Thank you everyone!

I love the server/instance I'm using, but wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a research or academic related one? There is a difference between academic and research (though of course an overlap) so let me know which if you know of any?
Thank you

12.11.2022 02:10Hi everyone!I love the server/instance I'm using, but wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a research or academic related one?...Content warning:Why I'll be engaging differently here compared to the bird site
I'm thinking about what I like on here, and what I disliked on the other site.
I'm not chasing the metrics, the boosts or likes, for me, there is a freedom here, it's closed, consent driven, slower paced, respectful, mindful and about sharing of thoughts and ideas.
The longer words means it can be like a blog post, not simply quickly jotting a thought and sending it out there.
Feels more community, and even if it isn't, that's how I'm choosing to engage.
I already see people I followed on the other site that stick out, are jarring on here.
I may be one of them, but hope not too much, and hope to adapt soon.
