ICYMI: Sometimes I sit down to write an email to solve a problem. But as I carefully put my thoughts into words, clarifying the problem in my own mind, I end up finding the answer on my own - about 80% of the time!
Lately I've realised that I don't even need to send the email. Just the act of pretending to write it is enough to untangle my thoughts. It's like a productivity hack I never expected!
Have you ever experienced this? 🤔💡 #Productivity #LifeHacks

It was built and used during the Neo-Babylonian period (626-539 BCE) and was eventually destroyed by fire. We created a 3D model of the replastered remains of the "Red House" to give a visual impression of the possible outcome of the project in terms of wall heights etc. The visualisations were also used to present the project to potential sponsors.

On one hand, they push me to get things done; on the other, I often feel that my work suffers in terms of quality. But let’s be honest—academia wouldn’t function without deadlines. Without them, would anything ever get finished? ⏳
How do deadlines work for you? Do they provide much-needed structure, or are they just a constant source of stress? Or do you try to avoid them as much as possible? 🤔

He lived in Roman Egypt and was an exponent of Hellenistic science. One of his inventions was automatic temple doors powered by a fire altar and hydraulics.
The automatic temple doors are described in his writings as invention "number 37". The idea was that temple doors should open automatically when a fire is lit and close again when the fire dies down.

The archaeological record documents various installations. Texts tell us that different activities were carried out in different courts. Group one created a game about Roman coins and trade, starting in a modern museum and travelling back in time. Despite disruptions like fire alarms, both groups bonded over the experience, and their games will be published on the DiKopA website.
