One of my favorite things is seeing a client who dumped me, dig themselves in so much deeper and delay their project so much longer, over a problem I had already solved.

I spent 6 months or so puzzling out the problem.
I spent 6 months wrestling with code and trying to push their coders to implement *anything*.

And I had a fix.

The initial fix was finished in code. We just had to implement changes in their app and tweak some models. They knew I had it fixed.

They decided they were out of patience, because I couldn't push a button and just make it all better instantly.

I'd have had everything done by about the end of March.

It's now the end of May. They've hired two people to replace me.

They've burned $10K in 2 months and judging by the outside view, that I know they hired that second guy recently.. and he's a consultant, not even a developer..

I think they got a long way to go.

I finally offered up Voyager, as nothing is so tough as an Intrepid Class ship.

Our artificer accepted the name.

My River 2 Pro will power my computer and internet for 6 hours. Or my internet alone for maybe 12 hours.

OR I could get a Delta Pro. And run the computer and net for 30 hours (I know, it's not that efficient, but rough numbers here).

I just gotta save up. And then when the power goes out for multiple days again, I can just run my parents are their 2 KW battery and have my 4 KW or so for net, computers, AC..

I don't know that I've ever wanted to scream at someone to stop being a victim.

They're in a bad spot and will not even TRY to help themselves. "The law doesn't work like that here." While I'm looking at a fucking page that pretty well spells out: "YES IT FUCKING DOES."

I have a friend in the UK who thinks UK Employment law is worse than the US. While I'm looking at a page laying out how a UK employer is limited in changing someone's hours and how they can be in trouble for just "getting rid of" a job in order to change the terms of the job.

There's procedures those scumfucks have to follow. And she does not have to just sit there and say "ok" to all of it not being done.

The calibration was **SUPER** off from the factory. It took an extra 2 hours to get from 98% to 100% full.

Mac Mini
Cable Signal Booster
Wifi
Modem

The monitors are costing me 50 watts. Which is good today, I want to run this thing down fast and recharge. This is just a little test session/giving the battery a charge cycle.

In a short term power outage, this is how I'd run.

Longer outage, I would shutdown the mac and hopefully get consumption under 40 watts. I think that damn DOCSIS booster eats a fair bit of power.

Today's Goal: Test battery back up 1 of 2. Gonna make sure my storm-resistant setup is indeed, storm-resistant.
