Instead of the rolling green lawns, propped up by concrete vaults to make them movable and drenched in chemicals to keep them uniform and subdued, cemeteries in #Denmark haves lots of little mini plots. They're as unique as your back garden - lots of flowers or none, some have photos or solar lights, some have a seat so visitors can hang out in comfort. Some are just wild - a boulder with name and dates marking a grave amongst whatever grows there.

I took my li-l brown, biracial patootie to South Africa in 1986, right before the Pass laws were officially struck down.

I was given "honorary White" status thanks to my UK passport. Not that it was remotely useful when I was out and about. Had some very interesting conversations with S.Africans willing and curious enough to have them.
