This is a longshot, but is anyone familiar with the history of the L E Knott apparatus company? I'm trying to narrow down the date of a galvanometer that's marked as patented in 1912, and I've found a catalogue showing what appears to be the same model as late as 1921, but I'm wondering how much longer this model might have been in production, and when the company went out of business.

If you're teaching student engineers who will someday build next-gen autofocus cameras, they need to first learn how apertures and focal lengths work without it!
