The average citizen truly does not understand that plastic recycling is not a solution, is terribly polluting, and is almost not a thing, it happens at such a small scale compared to production of new plastic.

I met a woman just the other week who, when I encouraged her away from a plastic tub of product toward one in paperboard packaging, said to me, "But I recycle...? 🤷🏻‍♀️"

#War is hell for allistics; when regular life can feel like hell sometimes for we autistics, what is war for us??? 😣

My genuine prayer for any autists is that they are simply not there--that they have been able to leave #Ukraine and Kyiv and some other areas especially.

But we know that men between certain ages, anyway, were forbidden to leave.

-I'm guessing the luck getting a medical exemption for #autism there is about as easy as finding someone competent enough to diagnose autism in adults just about anywhere, in the first place.

Which is to say, big fat freakin' chance. 😢 🪦

Like, have I wussed out in my tolerance of a little fatigue, a little soreness, a little being out of my comfort zone, to the point of atrophy?

As in: "Have I just been lazy, and indulgence in the laziness has begotten more fatigue with any minimal effort?"

And then I remember a few days ago, when, coming home wiped out because I was out a few hours in heat over 75°F, my hands had visible tremors. 👀

I hate that my brain, when I'm having a feeling or an internal reaction while listening to another person, shuts down all the other...

I hate that my brain, when I'm having a feeling or an internal reaction while listening to another person, shuts down all the other channels--listening, seeing--to receive that impression or feel that feeling.

All the other data drops out. As if it never got recorded.

I might catch a key word here or there, or remember a fleeting instant of an impactful facial expression, but it's all broken apart spotty bits like that from there on forward. I often have to reconstruct how those disjointed pieces flow in a coherent statement or narrative later, based on contextual clues and the general gist of the conversation.

I miss so much precious, important-to-me information in my interactions with people I care about because of this phenomenon.
