So a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to snatch one of @SurlyAmy's wonderful mugs and was sad that I couldn't use it right away...

So a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to snatch one of @SurlyAmy's wonderful mugs and was sad that I couldn't use it right away because I didn't have any drinks I felt would fit in it due to it being so hot. Yesterday I found iced mocha at the store and it felt perfect. So good morning, everyone. Cool mugs, soft music, yoga in just a few minutes. Hopefully #today will be a nice one for all!

I never thought I would be in a position to want to publiccly send this song in any copacity other than as an example of musical genious, as I don't agree with the view of technology it paints and believe very, very strongly that the internet and the media that comes with it are forces for great good, but *specifically* applied to corporations, and especially with the recent Meta nonsense, this seems very apropos. The collapsing egg in his palm twitched, crunched, crumpled, and then feathers spilled and claws scrabbled out from the wreckage, flailing free as soft blue light dribbled between his fingers. He let out a string of curses that would have put a sailor to shame and started to flail himself, until he caught sight of the bright black eyes; the delicate head and tiny wings as pale as snow nearly falling from a precarious perch on his sleeve.

He brushed faceted, rainbow-hued shell away carefully, watching the hatchling as it found a better purchase on his arm. With every movement, the new plumage chimed softly like glass bells, and sparks of light ignited like stars in the soft fluff atop the creature's head.

His heart beat wildly. He was used to swords, not soft things. But this gentle bird was a being made of myth. And given that myths seldom had mothers and he saw only frost and flowers in this valley, he supposed it was time to learn new things. #MastoPrompt #MicroPrompt

Time whispered with a thousand tongues, the susurrus rush of moments almost unbearable, and she gritted her teeth. Just. One. Stitch. The thought ricocheted around her skull, pounding purpose into her trembling fingertips. The force of it almost rippled her, returned her to her grandmothers knees in that dim attic when she was four, teaching her how to thread the needle through the hourglass just in case. But she was eight now, and she knew so many more things than she had then.

Jutting her chin in the way she knew grownups hated, she caught at time again and held it fast, pulled it taught like the fabric that it was, fixing herself in the nebulous now-and-then. It was so much easier with the spindle. With the spindle, time was a thread, not a great sea, and even though threads looped back on themselves, it was never like this. She had never done it like this. But for her grandmother, she could, surely. She could make the world jump just this once. #MastoPrompt #MicroPrompt

The world flurries open,
sense and nonsense hurling full throttle down to
bury the ball of peace you've
clawed yourself into, rending
mute and mangled your protests, ripping
holes in your thoughts where the light was
trying
to rise.
It's dark, too dark, and the wrong kind of moths are
nibbling
at the edges of your breath even as it somehow
keeps going like clockwork, one, two, three and
somewhere, you know that pieces of you are
bending in some distant, contemptuous wind that you can't ever
ever put a name to. All you can do is
wait for the moon to say hello, for
the chimes to remind you that time has shape and another day is here--wait for yourself to
coalesce. To remember that, terrible as this is,

I forgot how nice it was to have Aura running on my computer and just constantly generating a forest through sound. I'd shut it off for the Fall/Winter because it felt odd to have a Summery forest when the outside was covered with snow, but now that the weather has warmed, I'll have to remember to have it running again. Such a lovely little addition to my day.
