Hey folks, I've decided I need a change and am leaving my day job (not DuckDB, don't worry). If anyone has any leads on interesting remote jobs in Australia or Aotearoa (or in person in Perth), please feel free to hit me up ☺️

This year is our trial of a brand new format, PyCon Fair! If there's an idea that you want to share with the community, but a conference talk isn't the right format for it (or you just don't want to stand up in front of a room full of people), PyCon Fair might just be for you.

When I was contracting, I learned that some factors in software development are a red flag. These were my deal breakers:

2. No direct interaction with biz stakeholders, especially end users.
3. Majority of junior devs

New post by @lnkuiper: Shredding deeply nested #JSON one vector at a time
Querying JSON as a table is as easy as SELECT * FROM 'file.json';
It's fast too, thanks to DuckDB's lists/structs and the yyjson parser by @ibireme.
