In the early to mid 2000s, I was a child traveling with my older brother to visit family in other cities and States around the United States. In the aftermath of 9/11, the price of petrol made the cost of flying more costly than ever before. Furthermore, the hassles of flying were evermore problematic due to the new restrictions and regulations put upon the flight industry by the federal government (making traveling more time consuming than ever before due to new security protocols that had to be dealt with in the post 9/11 world.

I know German fluently, and whenever I see Afrikaans text, I think it's German. Then I read the sentence more and see the Dutch words, and I'm like: "oh, dammit, this aint German" LOL.

I'm a little late, but It's never too late for an #introduction

My name is Sam, I am from the United States. I am a music producer, historian, and writer for my blog/website (LiveLux.Live). I also enjoy reading and writing about politics and social issues domestically and abroad.

I joined this server, because I find South Africa to be an interesting Country with not only a lot of potential, but also a very interesting past and present history -especially when I look at the similarities between US history and ZA history. I also plan on publishing some writings on my website highlighting those similarities (if anyone would be interested in reading it).

That interest in the past has helped me get a general understanding of the current issues the Country faces, and I would love to speak to others about issues the Country faces, its' history, and possible solutions. I also enjoy meeting new people from different backgrounds, so I would like to talk to people from different backgrounds from ZA.

Anyways, enough of my ranting, thank you to the mods for accepting my application, and I hope all of you have a good day 😊
