Found my sleepy couple of great horned owls yesterday morning. I love that they almost always use the same tree. I was careful not to disturb their sleep. You can see from these photos the size difference. The female (right) is much larger than her mate.

Another interesting note is that northern great horned owls are much paler than those in the south end of their range. #owls #birds #wildlife
