At nearly 50m away, I was impressed by my Sigma lens being able to resolve the drops of water falling from the swans neck.

Further away in the bay, there were some other swans swimming and dipping below the surface.

I set the camera on pebbles aligned my shot & took it, then the tide came in! By the time that I realised, the water was just starting to touch the bottom of the front glass element, and the base of the camera was saturated.

in 2018, In the depths of an underground mine, I piloted a drone. Suddenly, it crashed into a wall, the propellers shattered, sending shards flying in all directions. One of the largest shards, a jagged piece of carbon fibre and plastic. As the Chief Remote Pilot, it served as a constant warning: things can go wrong, and if circumstances had been slightly different, I could have had a large chunk of propeller embedded in my leg, far from the surface.
