Tulku Thondup Rinpoche died, and I am sad about it. I'm turning 65 next month, and it is to be expected that the older lamas will die before me. But, still. He was an excellent writer of multiple books on Tibetan Buddhism, som technical and some very accessible to the interested public.

I spent part of my weekend sanding this huge un-planed pine slab that is going to be the. countertop supporting a traditional Tibetan Buddhist altar. Eventually I found that some of the deep milling gouges will just have to stay. People pay to have pretend marks like that added to their engineered hardwood flooring, so I figure it is okay. Now I have fine sawdust in every pore of my body.
