Rework my card playing mechanics during exploration. Previously cards are played when you use them in choices.

In the new version, you can play them anytime, which adds a lot more ways I can implement cards.

However, I feel like the game is still missing something and I am not sure what.

This weekend is ldjam, so perhaps I will take a break and do the jam πŸ€”

Managed to finish my 2D grid and movement this week with all the logic for exploration.

I haven't implements the new cards for exploration but I like the new grid exploration.

Next week's goal would be to put in the exploration cards and see how the whole exploration will feel.

Didn't post last week because I was almost done with the prototype.

Did a round of playtesting on monday with a completed prototype. I like the vibe that the mechanic is giving me but something is off.

I think using a single deck for the exploration mechanic is not strong enough. Gonna rework the exploration to a grid instead and hope to be done by next week.

Alright, 3 weeks of no posting. I'm still working on my prototype, but nothing interesting.

I am pretty close to getting it done internally. Still not ready for public eye but will be ready to send out to close friends/dev for feedback.

The current game I am making can be summarised as "Extraction Deckbuilder". Once the prototype is done, I will share more thoughts and playtest notes here.

Still working on my prototype. Progress is still quite smooth. Realistic target / non-burn out target is to finish the prototype by mid Sept. If I am fast, perhaps end of Aug.

The scope of the game seems to also be getting bigger.

Initially target is to launch in June next year, but now it looks like it will take until Dec or 2026.

Another slow week of updating my engine. Trying to update it in a way that does not break my previous games seems to be a bigger challenge than expected.

I guess I just have to update the old projects as I go.

I am currently about 4 days behind for my prototype because of the engine work.

Next week might recover the time loss since the engine work will make development faster.

Not much to report this week. Still grinding through the prototype for my next game. I don't even have art to show. I am just prototyping with square and texts at the moment.

Progress is quite slow. I feel like all projects this year started off really slow. I wonder if I am getting rusty.
It could also be the case that the last 2 launches are the outliers. Who knows.

Finish testing a core mechanic this week. I like this idea enough that I have plan out a bigger prototype.

The bigger prototype is to test other parts and see if they fit together.

Also upgraded a lot of my engine this week.

Timeline for next prototype is 3-4 weeks. Hopefully will be on track :)

Will also share te prototype once the prototype has more meat. Now it is just too empty.

Launched Crop Rotation 1.3 patch early this week. Everyone seems to like it and I got a bunch of new reviews so that's nice :)

I started doing a brain dump of my knowledge of CR so that I can remember them next year when I work on the next patch.

Still have 1 or 2 things to do for CR, so probably wrap up CR next week.

Once I wrap up, then probably can start a new prototype again.

I ended up working on Crop Rotation during the time that I was awake.

Next week will be 1.3 patch for Crop Rotation. Not sure if content creators will be interested in covering the update πŸ€”

I feel like I am getting really bad (and bad luck) at starting new projects.

I will probably try to finish the mvp anyway, even if it is not in time for the haxejam.

I am making a simple deckbuilder using megaman chip battle combat mechanic.

Managed to set up most of the data structure. Gonna start adding the ui.

Took a short break this week so didn't do much.

More balancing work for Crop Rotation. The 1.3 patch is almost done, but I don't want to launch it yet as Steam Next Fest is next week.

Target date should be around 20th this month.

Haxe Jam is going to start this week, so that will be where I prototype my next game, maybe :).

Expect daily post next week for haxe jam.

Imported strings from all the translators this week. Also balance the game a lot more for my 1.3 patch.

Crop rotation has become my favorite engine builder game now, and not just because I made it.

I started brainstorming even more ideas this week and also playing more games for research. I have a lot of new ideas, not sure when I will be starting tho. Haxe jam is next weekend, so maybe then ?
