Along with landscapes and animals, I REALLY enjoy #photography of #StreetArt , this one is from an alley in #DurhamNC . I really love how much red brick there is around downtown Durham, and this rusty gate contrasted really well with the mural behind it.

I was doing a little "experiment" where you take a ripe persimmon and cut open the seed to see what kind of winter it's going to be this year, you know, for funsies and I managed to cut the tip of my index finger open pretty nicely. I'm home alone today, so it was fun trying to keep pressure and clean it and get the bandage and everything ready. It was handy to have everything all in one place and ready to use though.

Been #reading (listening - #audiobook) to Stephen King's newest - Fairy Tale [https://bookrastinating.com/book/91108/s/fairy-tale] and am really enjoying it! It does a great job of feeling like a modern fairy tale without too many direct references to existing stuff. Anyone else reading good #fiction you want to talk about lately?

I know this point has been expressed by the #Mastodon veterans already, but it's a real bummer to see so many people complaining about the platform as being "messy" or "broken" without taking the time to learn it and how it works. When compared to the current state of twitter, at least I'm seeing posts and replies properly here. Folks should take some time to read the many resources available. Reading used to be mandatory in early internet - lurk and learn! Be at the forefront!
