This is Ninja, when he was only a few weeks old (2011, Mumbai).
I wanted to see how he'd react to me placing him in one of my boots, and whether I could quickly take a few photos before he darted off.
Much to my surprise, he found the shoe comfy and promptly fell asleep after a couple of minutes.

Lizards evolved millions of years before the Jurassic based on new fossil evidence.
This pushes them to the late Triassic (235-201 mya), which is 35 million years older than previous estimates.

Can anyon in #Scotland recommend a good second hand vehicle? All I care about is mileage and low maintenance.
Don't really care about room, size or luxuries, just need a vehicle to get from point A to point B in #shetland
I was briefly considering new cars, but they're horrendously expensive in the UK.
Looking at something around £10k. Might just be able to push to £15k if it's a good deal.

E.g. this carpenter bee (Xylocopa sp., Mumbai, India, 2015) was hovering whlie feeding on a Jamaican Spike flower.
The camera shutter speed?
1/200th of a second.
I only managed to freeze motion at a 320th of a second or higher.

Almost all animals have a period of reduced sensory activity and/or reduced metabolisim.
In insects, this is called "torpor", although the term is also used to describe reduced activity in other animals (including mammals, e.g. the term describes hibernation).
The bee is most likely genus Nomada, only a few millimetres in length.
Taken in Mumbai, India for a photography project on pollinators.

Indian Palm Bob feeding on a lantana flower, Mumbai.
In 2015, I had an exhibition on pollinating insects in India.
I tried obtaining funding for (among other things) a book, but insects aren't "sexy" enough, I guess. Even so, I discovered quite a lot about pollinators in the process.
Despite appearances this is a butterfly and not a moth - and is a surprisingly fast, competent flier.
