tl;dr: I got tenure! Teaching my first year on the tenure track was one of the hardest things I’ve done.
To celebrate making it through two semesters of teaching I made a batch of wine and labeled it “Beginners luck.” I saved a bottle to drink when I got tenure. I cracked it today!
Friends, the wine did not age well. It’s gross and I couldn’t finish a glass. What does it mean? We could make a joke about academia, but instead let’s just say the lesson is to not delay joy. Drink the wine today!

Hello Mastadon! My #introduction. I’m an Assistant prof at the U of Alberta in comp sci and psychology. I’m interested in all of the ways that those things intersect, but work most specifically on how representations are learned and how their content is shared across learning systems (NNs, the brain). I know that’s not actually very specific 😂

I love reading fiction, knitting, sewing and I am going to attempt to ride my bike for some portion of the winter this year (already snow here 😬)
