I can't help but think it's like #talkietoaster from #Reddwarf: Do you want AI? How about if it was a bagel? How about if it was a waffle?

I already have some nice jewel tipped Rapidographs I bought some 40 years ago. Now I have to find some decent drafting film here in Switzerland #geography #gis #fountainpen #drafting

I suppose that was fine, as they were provided by my employers, and there were always more in the supply cabinet. But they were always ball-point pens.

Everywhere I worked,...I had been trying to remember what #fountainpen I started out with. A bit of searching, and it turned out it was a Shaeffer No Nonsense pen. The nib was both quite flexible and quite scratchy. But it was cheap, and it was a fountain pen. I eventually picked up a Shaeffer Targa slim and didn't use it for over 20 years. Now that I'm retired, I'm back to using my Targa, and have acquired a few more.
Great info on my old university pen:

DOGE stands for "Donold's Ongoing Grifting of Everything".
3.3.2025 20:43DOGE stands for "Donold's Ongoing Grifting of Everything".I've had the fortune to study with some of the greatest Geographers at both the University of Washington and at UCSB. While visiting the UCSB Geography dept website today, I came across the very sad news that Jeff Dozier is no longer with us. He was an amazing professor, and was able to describe really complex concepts. He also had a great sense of humor.
Jeff taught me why the sky is blue, mathmatically.

A number of us are stuck on #facebook due to lockin by friends and family. Especially those of us that have migrated to other corners of the globe from those friends and family.

That included building the test systems and writing the documentation for the sysadmins to build production. I was also the DBA, and did some coding.

Add a few hashtags. For example, I follow #GIS and #postgres because I'm (academically) a geodata guy. You can also search for folks you know in the "Search or past URL" box on the upper left.
I just use the Mastodon app, but there are folks that recommend other apps.

We should definitely fix this. Other FOSS projects seem to work fine with MacOS in this respect.
I would be willing to help out to fix this.

In Switzerland, ZertES defines digital signatures and varies a bit from the ETSI specs.

Of late, I've been thinking that #postgres would benefit from some sort of support for digital signatures. If you need to prove your data isn't tampered with, there are EU specifications for that: https://www.etsi.org/standards#page=1&search=&title=1&etsiNumber=1&content=0&version=0&onApproval=1&published=1&withdrawn=1&historical=1&isCurrent=1&superseded=1&startDate=1988-01-15&endDate=2023-12-18&harmonized=0&keyword=&TB=607&stdType=&frequency=&mandate=&collection=&sort=1
