Would a motherboard bought 10 years ago still be compatible with anything recent? Maybe the PSU will still be okay, if power needs haven't changed drastically. But is it even worth trying to reuse those parts when I want to switch cases, and it's possible nothing will even fit?

Following instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox
If I uncheck everything, ""twitter.com" doesn't autocomplete, but also nothing else useful gets autocompleted either. So I try to re-check Bookmarks only. But then the "twitter.com" autocomplete comes back???? I have no bookmarks to twitter.com though. Also the entry doesn't have a three-dot button or a "Remove from history" option
Uhhh... what?

23.11.2023 19:23I keep reading AGI as Adjusted Gross IncomePlover theory is starting to annoy me....... Sure, mapping an entire frequency-sorted list of English words (probably not longer than 2^22 right...?) directly onto chords would be much harder to learn, but at least it wouldn't involve picking random sounds out of a multisyllabic word, randomly choosing whether to disambiguate homophones with */garbled vowel sounds/spelling-based keys, or bad sound-key assignments resulting in new "homophones"

4D version of an old Android puzzle game that involved rotating a cloud of 3D blocks around until it looked like the target picture. The blocks were different sizes so that the depth from the camera would result in uniform "pixel" sizes when the blocks were in their final positions
SRS
But often I was actually trying to use it for something more like skill-building. I was using time to answer as a proxy for mastery of that skill/fact, and then trying to map mastery down to Anki's levels of ease. But because my expectations of master change over time (okay to be slow on a new card, but you'd better be fast if you've been studying this for a year!), that mapping also changes over the lifetime of a card, and who knows if that fits the forgetting curve basis of SRS anymore

Been thinking about how I used to use a combination of automated grading and time-to-answer for Anki cards as much as possible, and realized the system is just incompatible with what I wanted. A basic assumption of most SRS systems is that you want to study something the least amount possible, but you can only ride the edge of that line if you get things wrong sometimes.

SRS system for a group (maybe in the form of a mastodon poll bot). Bringing things up for review when the expected recall rate for the group reaches some threshold, balancing reviews and new cards for long-time followers against the knowledge of new followers, etc. Would get a better idea of the difficulty of a card from a single review, but also could complicate things by people only seeing an unattributable portion of the polls
