Mastodon seems great for connecting to people on specific topics. BUT, the lack of viral content (which I agree with and understand, thanks!) seems to have resulted in very little silliness that the internet is known for.

Twitter used to make me laugh in all sorts of surprising, unexpected ways. Mastodon doesn’t.

Is it just me or am I missing something?

Something I don't understand about #following accounts on other instances. In the official #MastodonApp and #Metatext, I'm taken to another page to enter my full @ and need to log in again (but can't because of apparent cookie issues).

In the browser, I can click 'Follow'.

Anyone know why this is? Am I missing something obvious? It's not a great experience using the apps when you have to switch to a browser to follow someone on another instance.
