In 2019, I was at a meeting of journalists in DC looking at how to fight disinformation in the 2020 election. My recommendation: partner with public libraries. Someone looked at me and said "you mean the place with the books?" No, I said, the place that deals in fact, that offers internet access in rural areas, where people take shelter in extreme hot or cold. When the House convened Tuesday I needed something to keep my hands busy so that I wasn’t doomscrolling while I watched the Speaker vote. As the rounds of voting went on, I decided to only work on it while the House was in session. I finished the crocheting at about the time Gaetz voted present in the 14th vote and finished weaving the ends before a result in the adjournment vote. I may have finished first, but it’s the American people who are losing. #ushouse #USHouseOfRepresentatives #crochet

Using DK yarn and a 3.5 mm hook. What happens first? Do I finish the project or do they elect a speaker? (I can’t seem to be able to add alt text.
