Some of you might already know that this year I trained to become a fully qualified yoga teacher (I’m not giving up science just yet —this is just something extra!).
Starting September 24th, I'll be teaching a weekly Vinyasa Yoga class as a volunteer at the CLAS-Montpellier (CNRS, 1919 route de Mende). The classes will be every Tuesday from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM.

Women are regularly gaslighted by doctors.
Research shows men in chronic pain tend to be regarded as “stoic” while women are more likely to be considered “emotional” and “hysterical” and accused of “fabricating the pain.”
Several horrific examples in this Washington Post article.

Not good: A recent #malaria outbreak in Laos has been shown to have been caused by a rapid selective sweep. The Laos outbreak was caused by the clonal expansion of multidrug-resistant strain (LAA1), carrying the kelch13 R539T mutation 😬.
For context: kelch13 mutations are responsible for resistance to Artemisinine Combination Therapies (ACTs): the first line of treatment in ALL malaria-endemic countries.

Chats of twitter's inner circle of senior executives reveal a series of 💩 decisions: limiting the dissemination of certain stories (eg the permanent suspension of Donald Trump in the wake of 6 January 2021 riot), and limiting the reach of some influential accounts (via a black list).
He’s shamelessly manipulating information in favour of far right views.
Please leave that place.

Getting hydrogen ions to fuse and release energy requires temperatures of millions of degrees Celsius—conditions that are hard to achieve and sustain. But the NIF managed it for a fraction of a second (using lasers) at 1am on the 5th December.

Had enough of the twatt in chief’s antics so I’ve decided to stop posting, retweeting or engaging on twitter.
My twitter timeline has become really boring anyway, as an increasing number of my favourite accounts have migrated over here (hello!).
I will also not be retooting or interacting with any twitter cross-postings here. Not trying to sound judgy or sanctimonious. Just a personal choice.
Also, anybody else thinks that Melon looks like a naked mole rat?
