#MastodonMigration In my very basic understanding of #Mastodon (and Twitter) there are 2 very different things: 1) a #firehose of posts being created every second. And 2) an interface that determines which posts I will see.
But it seems as though those two separate things are conflated here and on #twitter.
Is there a way to access the full firehose on Mastodon and for someone to then create their own #algorithm or interface or #MastodonApp to determine what they will see from that firehose?
#twitter refugees: Is anyone else worried they are going to miss the algorithm?
I understand its faults. But it also did a pretty good job of finding stuff that I never knew I was interested in. Stuff that made me laugh, people that made me think. Same thing for the trending feature.
For me, at least, I don't think Mastodon can ever replace Twitter without something besides chronology and #hashtags.
Am I missing something?
