Not actually sure if I mentioned it, but I left Japan towards the end of last year. Which means that this will be my last tax return. I found that self employment is actually so much easier in Japan, than in Switzerland. There is regulation in place to avoid fake self-employment in Switzerland, which might be a good thing (I'm thinking about all the "freelance" illustrators in japan).
In keeping my own traditions, I'm not early in finishing my bookkeeping...

my new way to deploy ruby:

docker-compose ruby image with traefik.
mount the code folder to /app.
deploy via git push by using "git config receive.denyCurrentBranch updateInstead"
git hook to restart the puma server with "docker compose exec -T app bundle install"
and
"docker compose exec -T app kill -USR1 1"

for db just use sqlite.

This is easier than kamal or capistrano with a lot less moving parts. new projects can be added quickly by creating a new folder on my server.
