So, if you had 2-factor authentication on the birdsite set up through text messages, they've made that a feature you have to pay for—which means 2-factor authentication gets turned off. Mine was.

There are still options that do NOT require payment. At least for now. And having extra security over there seems, IDK, kind of a good idea?

Aside from continuing to struggle financially (the pandemic has really done me in, hoo boy), I'm actually pretty happy with my current clients (however small the collection of clients is right now) and my current work. In fact, I *love* a whole lot of the work I'm doing these days. It's just not enough to feel financially stable again.

But, yeah, aside from the money stuff? Mostly happy, albeit a little at sea.

I'm wrestling a bit lately with how one of my personal casualties of the pandemic is kind of the heart of what I once considered my professional identity.

I have defined myself for most of my writing career as an Italy travel writer. Now, after a divorce, the derailing of my expat plans, and a pandemic, I'm not really sure *what* my core professional identity is anymore.

And that's a little unsettling, especially at this point in my life.
