The next time someone asks me why I think universities should not rely on corporate products for their infrastructure I’ll just ask them to try and make a microsoft-based and a google-based colleague work together on a shared document.

It almost feels like they don’t want anyone outside of the ecosystem to successfully collaborate without creating an account (*surprised pikachu face*)

Archaeo.social now offers a for (and not only)! This is a tiny funny thing from the old web and it might be a good way to discover and keeping a list of blogs and websites. Thanks to @joeroe for supporting this idea and implementing it :) (and thanks to @amolith for the go-webring)

More information and how to join at: webring.archaeo.social

Hope to see more people joining and maybe other webrings from others folks :)

TIL (or better, TIR) that link.springer.com don’t expose RSS feed directly for (some of?) their journal (anymore?), and their new search is apparently breaking the rss feed. The old search with the rss button that will get you the whole journal feed is still available through a link “go back to the old experience”, but this will reset the search parameters.
To get a working feed just set the “new-search” bit to false in the page URL (or remove it completely).

Still not a great fan of the advertised vertical view (I'm used to have last messages at the bottom), but I'll give it a try.

The reasoning in this post+replies is exactly why I’ll always use and come back to apps like @tootapp or @tusker instead of the tons of new shiny apps.

mastodon.social/@tootapp/11003

You can see that there is a will and priority of building a healthy social network experience for the users, and not creating the same app over and over just to jump on the mastodon hype train.

Sooo added plugin, with the following statement:

“Now you can get accurate answers to your questions, quickly find information, generate texts, and even get your code built with the help of the renowned AI helper, right in ONLYOFFICE Docs” (onlyoffice.com/blog/2023/02/ch)

Maybe we should tone down a bit the part about accurate answers and information @ONLYOFFICE ? Given the sheer evidence of so many issues with accuracy and false info generated by the chatbot.
