As if recent revelations of the damning state of our schools weren't enough; more evidence of this government's failure to invest in the country's vital infrastructure.
So much for taking back control.

Although she and Natalie Bennett are both on record as calling for it to be reformed, while it still exists they are both using their positions to provide some real, principled, opposition to the Tories. It's sad that the 'official' opposition are often absent on that regard.

With a concerted effort, we could stop this from reaching apocalyptic proportions.
It will need systemic change, but there are still things we can all do on a personal level: eat less meat, stop flying, and vote for the *only* party that takes the climate crisis seriously and is prepared to tell the truth about the challenges we face.
(Spoilers: it's the Green Party)

When challenged by young people demanding action on climate change, Kier Starmer was asked "Which side are the Labour Party on?"
Sir Keir replied: "We're on the side of economic growth".'
The Labour Party is willing to let the planet burn on the altar of "growth, growth, growth".

Extreme weather events are the new normal, after governments ignored the science for decades and allowed man-made climate change to run rampant.
The consequences are with us here, and now. Many more will die without urgent action.
The UK should be scrapping new coal, oil and gas exploitation and leading the way in renewable energy and insulation to protect British homes from the extremes of heat and cold we now face.

However, as @davidallengreen writes, it's not that simple.
When you're making decisions that will affect the rest of someone's life, it's right that you do so carefully, diligently, and with humanity. The Home Secretary has so far failed that test.
