I recently started using an AI coding tool, and surprisingly it is pretty helpful. In a "fancy autocomplete" kind of way.

My favorite feature is it understands manual edits and suggests context-appropriate repeats of the same action whenever you move to another piece of code. Such as adding null checks at the beginning of multiple functions, or deduplicating multiple instances of code into a new shared function.

I don't think it is a replacement for human intelligence. But it does bring some interesting time-saving tools for coders who, like me, already gravitate to chonky IDEs with extensions etc.

"The second accident was a cooling system leak which occurred in 1967, shortly after refueling. Finding the leak required breaking through the concrete and metal biological shield with sledgehammers. Once the leak was found, it became apparent that the sledgehammer damage could not be repaired; subsequently, all three reactors were removed by blowing them off the ship with shaped charges above a burial site off Novaya Zemlya, and replaced by two OK-900 reactors. This was completed in early 1970."

I spent some time revisiting Dark Souls 3 with a new playthrough this weekend.

It was the first Souls I ever played, around when it came out, and while it was of course very difficult it hooked me.

Funny how returning to it now, after finishing the other SoulsBorneRing games, most of it really isn't *that* difficult or frustrating as long as you have a bit of game knowledge. So I'm having a good time.

I continue to be very interested in "Web Monetization" as a way to seamlessly support the multitude of small independent websites I use daily, such as my home Mastodon and PeerTube instances.

Unfortunately, the @Interledger wallet continues to be broken so I can't experiment with it. It seems like the infrastructure involved here isn't quite ready for public use yet.

I'm looking forward to the point where it, hopefully, catches on and micropayments flow to the services I use and the independent content creators I read, watch and listen to. It might just transform the web.

It's mildly amusing to me when high profile individuals or organizations leave fedi for bluesky etc. and some big discussion ensues and terms like MAU get thrown around.

Speaking strictly for myself, I've never had much interest in following That Actor or That Tech Company on social media. I don't mind if they want to hang out on giant corporate platforms.

For me, all the fun in this microblogging thing stems from following and interacting with regular people. You are cool.

The more I listen to it, the more I like Pallbearer's latest album "Mind Burns Alive".

It's not crushingly heavy doom metal like "Foundations" was, and that put me off at first. But I'm beginning to appreciate it for what it is. It has such an intentionally restrained sensibility. Often more relaxing and beautiful than heavy.
