And so it begins. Approximately 2 months before last frost in my zone, the first seeds await the awakening of the grow light. Eggplant, sweet peppers and some flowers.
Not sure how growing seedlings will work with my plant fascinated kittens (i.e. prone to nibble, sit on, pull up, wreck general destruction). Time will tell.

Zonkey - beautiful, selective striping on legs, ears, face.

Patagonian mara - made purring like a cat sound as I fed her.

Goats - learned the slit in their eyes (aka the pupil) is horizontal, unlike many other mammals, which are vertical.

Baby ring-tailed lemurs.

The water is rough, white caps crashing into the shore. Sea and sky clear blues. Wild flowers everywhere, except under dense trees that line the river beds. I ride by a bluff, part of the evolving landscape.

In the distance, the power plant and a ship? with four masts, anchored some way out. I imagine it’s pirates.

I can almost believe nature and humans can co-exist.

The curling at the base of the stem may be a simple reaction to being immersed in water, or maybe the flowers adapting a new way of life 😉

The seed packet suggested some kind of cantaloup/musk melon. But they don’t have the characteristic mesh-like skin.

Haven’t cut into one yet because I’m waiting for the sweet smell of ripe melon.

But it looks so cool having hanging bundles of greenery in the kitchen.

And maybe dried oregano will become incredibily valuable and I can retire and instead of working follow rock bands around all the time 😎
