I am really thrilled that Librarians and Archivists welcome the book so warmly (especially since Academia is still in full 🙈 🙉 🙊 /blind/deaf/mute monkey/ mode about the climate and biodiversity crisis and its impact on cultural heritage).

Funny thing about the #writing process (I am talking about fiction here for a change).
In the early phase of a new text, I need to "test" my characters, e.g., see how they behave in specific situations in order to get a better sense of the character as a whole, to get to personality consistency. Sometimes I choose familiar situations, sometimes exotic ones.

I booked a ticket on the brand new direct Berlin-Paris day train connection and the overall experience was extremely satisfactory:
* easy to find on sncf connect
* easy to combine with the Paris-Le Mans connection
* actually cheap!
* could book now for early January (not for later in January though)
Very different experience than the ones I had trying to book the night train (in which I have managed to book for the first time for early December, for a very decent price).

So today I took a day off to go protest at the VBL headquarters behind the @scientistrebellion_GER banner.

The VBL is a pension fund in which all German civil servants (including academic staff below professor status) are obliged to pay. It is itself under no obligation to account for its investments and keeps investing in the fossil industry - a particularly mean way of depriving the younger generations of a livable future.
