I will never use Signal for calls (or stories, god help us all) so it just sits there taking up screen space, with that annoying unread badge that won't go away until I scroll through a backlog of ancient messages and mark them as read. Please don't force this kind of prominent UI element on your users, expecially when it's useless to a bunch of us!

I guess I'm a woolly beast from the before-time because the near universal use of autocorrect mystifies me. Aside from not wanting the machine to correct me (if I make a mistake, I make a mistake) I cannot type a single sentence successfully with autocorrect turned on. Whatever I type gets changed into something else so I have to retype it with suggested words constantly popping up on screen... feels like I'm fighting the software when I could just type words.

So this VanMoof e-bike company is currently going bankrupt and owners have to move fast to keep access to their bicycles, which are controlled by apps that will soon no longer work.

It just leaves me wondering, Ludditely, why on Earth do people buy app-controlled bicycles? I do not understand this apparent desire to make the simple mechanical things in our lives less reliable by making them Internet dependent. My bicycle doesn't get OTA updates - it's a bicycle!
