He doesn't understand that it's because I have to ration them out for when my pain levels are at least a 6/10... or risk being without ANY kind of pain relief aside from paracetamol and ibuprofen gel... which does very little top help other than slightly numb level 4 pain.

I'm not allowed to take anti-inflammatory meds orally after stomach surgery 8yrs ago... and have a mild codine reaction if I'm on them too long.

So instead of taking painkillers for my pain. I only take them for 'extreme' pain.

I think it's time I found another place. I appreciate the work the admins do and have donated several times. But the constant issues and unreliability make me concerned for it's longevity and I feel donating any more would be pointless.

Any suggestions for reliable instances?

So Nov & Dec, I'm expecting to be importing at least 300+kwh of energy and expecting electric bills in the £90-100 range. Oct should be somewhere in the £60-70 range, if last years is anything to go by.

As for gas use, since middle of May the heating gets turned off. It's now back on this week. So gas bills will rise again.

Total spend on gas for 9 months was £348

Expecting £60-70 Oct bill, and then £100-120 bills for Nov-Dec as it gets colder

Thanks to the solar and battery system, this year, on a 4 double bedroom, 3 bathroom home with an avg of 5500kwh of energy use per year... Has so far, after 9 months. Cost less than £500 in electric charges (inc standing charges and VAT) (see pic 1).

We've also earned £92 from exporting energy (see pic 2).

Which means that for 9 months of the year, it's cost just £402 for all our electric.

He's managed to drill through his own wiring, causing a short so we have no sockets or lights in the bedroom. He's temp put the bathroom lights on another circuit so we can at least see, but the ceiling and walls have ended up damaged and need patching, every socket & switch has chips that need attention & paint.... work I could have done without as it just adds to the delays.

I'm beginning to doubt that he's a certified electrician at all. 🤦

Building regs changed last year.

The sensor needs to be a combined heat & CO2 alarm, and needs to be linked to the rest of the system. So if it goes off, it will trigger the heat sensor in the kitchen which also triggers the smoke alarms in the hallway and upstairs.

It's about £200+ as we need to replace the kitchen one with a wireless one too.

I've got 3m of oak kitchen counter top, that the joiner will cut up to create the window board and the tops for these. I've also asked if he'll cut up the off cuts to make some narrow shelves and a cutting board or two for the kitchen.

Engineered oak isn't that expensive, £210 for a 3 meter length of 22mm thick and 620mm wide counter.

All new furniture would have cost 3x that

So As I'd not been out in about 10 days, and needed to run a few errands. I said... let's go out for lunch.

Ended up at The Bull in Beaumaris on the coast. A lovely old Georgian town with a castle.

I had the Welsh rarebit toastie with bacon and chunky chips, whilst my mum had the mushroom soup to soothe her stomach as she'd been unwell last few days.

Recycling centre run (boot load of cardboard) out for some lunch because it's been at least 10 days since I last went out to do anything not DIY related.

Then pick up some DIY parts & grab some groceries on the way back.
