Finally figured out why the one temperature sensor was “fuzzy” — it fell flat on top of the freezer and the consistent temperature change was caused by the condenser cycling. Moved it and the readings returned to normal.

I can issue the PTZ stuff via v4l2-ctl and have ffmpeg and mediatrx doing the streaming, but am hoping not to have to write something myself to make it a little more … elegant.

Starlink and cell for connectivity with 50W of 2m for emergencies. A thousand trails membership would help with locations and costs, and boondocking on BLM land on occasion for variety/getting away.

What’re the major failed items/modes for a trailer used in this kind of capacity? What’s the average service cost and time/intervals? What do the shops like to screw you for with an RV?

Online cameras are only one facet, what about door/window protection and anti theft? Are there any mitigations for sun loading aside from location and maybe a giant tarp?

Aside from four season ratings and weights, what kinds of things don’t I know that I should be aware of? Are there specific features that sound good but aren’t worth it, or things I might overlook that are more important than they seem? Most likely will be in the southern US but visiting northern states and Canada.
