Got an alert of a man with a handgun near campus. Hour later they said alert was over and they believed he was no longer in the area. Was at home, but it doesn’t instill confidence, especially at the end of the semester. I wish guns were not so easy to obtain.

Cross post. Do you think recreational diving can help raise awareness of reefs and the conditions of sea life more generally? I understand that there are many negative repercussions of tourism, but scuba has opened my eyes in many ways. I wonder if there can be positive impacts from these human-sea life interactions. Would love to hear other divers' experiences, especially from those who are professionals in this field. #scuba #sealife #reef #conservation #research #anthropology
