Ugears released a Game Master Screen to assemble from little, puzzle-like parts. Although it took some time and dedication, it's now assembled and I can't wait to use it - I even printed some Dishonored's artwork and am looking forward to narrate the official adventure from the book. The look of the screen does match Dishonored's feeling, and the included dice tower is fun, although it would probably be more relevant on the players' side.

Not sure what "good form" means. If we're talking about packaging / external appearance, I would definitely mention "The Yellow King" from Pelgrane Press. It's a "boxed" set of four books, whose box is actually the GM Screen. Very Transformer-like. Also the books themselves have a great layout, it does help to get in the mood. Other than that, most smaller books (A5) are more pleasant to read and use than typical heavy rulebooks.

Mmm, honestly I don't know if it does fit the description because the book itself was a pretty long reading, but the playtest of "Tomb Raider: Shadows of Truth" proved pretty interesting. The adventure was basically just a list of checkboxes and global directions, but I had 0 preparation before each session, simply improvising on the go as players were weaving their own version of the plot. A nice surprise!

Been reading through the new version of Te Deum pour un Massacre, now that it has been released as PDF. The game has been written by an acclaimed author and it shows. I've rarely been transported by a reading so much, and there's this efficient way of conveying a Dumas-esque feeling to how the Wars of Religion turned out in France - he's not wordy, but evocative. He also has a way to paint characters that actually makes me want to GM them

There are a lot of contenders out in the wild, but if we're just judging the art itself, I would go for Bastien Lecouffe Deharme's GODS. When the main author is also a great illustrator, it does definitely make a difference. Pictures are on spot, and they benefit from an eerie, magnificent consistency.

- All-time: probably "Qin - the Warring States" as a GM. We played the full campaign with 68 sessions over 4 years, and that was quite a blast!
- All editions: probably Legends of the Five Rings, been GMing and playing over 100 sessions from 1998 to 2023. We just recently dropped our City of Lies campaign because it kinda disappointed me!
- This year: Jackals with 7 sessions. Fights feel both visual and tactical, the campaign is promising!

We're playing "Opération Firewall", a nice introductory scenario to the second part of the official campaign, "The Killing Game". Players are discovering Toulon and its many, many plots and power players - although the investigation is a bit unfocused, it does yield a lot of ideas, questions and interesting encounters.

As I knew the web before it turned into a surveillance capitalism platform, the game totally hits the right spot. The campaign wrote for the French version kinda miss it, however: more of a setting than a proper adventure, it also doesn’t fully grasp the computer-related issues of the game and explores other, more traditional topics.

Just a question: do you plan to release docks / other accessories that would keep the tablet standing without a keyboard? I've actually bought a Voyager keyboard from ZSA, making the official Starlite's keyboard somewhat redundant whenever I'm working home or at office (though it's still very useful when working in the train).

#trpg #kemi #jdr Been adapting Fate Core to « Kemi - Aventures en Égypte Antique », an historical game about Ancient Egypt (New Empire, 25th year of Tutmes III’s reign). We’re trying the investigation adventure from the book and things are working pretty well, although the narrativist system required some tweaks in most of my players’ mindsets (I thought it would have been immediate). Overall, though, it’s probably be a big success. Too bad the scenario looks pretty short (2 sessions).

28) Scariest game: when we were teenagers, my brother's group organized some adventures of a game called Chill, and that was pretty scary. We were supposed to investigate an haunted house, but we fled to a barn and just tried to survive the night. Turned out we never finished the game.

Now I feel like any game would have done the trick, it was mostly a question of mood.

Yet I read somewhere that a new edition of L5R would be great. And I concur. The v5 system is full of promises but would require some ironing to unleash its potential. Balance, less opportunities.
