I agree with Mohamad Quddus that the answer it's simple, it's (mostly) useless. There is no (cheaply feasible) way to do so if collecting data from a fixed site-based sensor (with communication delays to the user). Vehicles with some assisting technology and automation can and are doing this of course. #trbam

There are temples and minor "landmarks" everywhere, embedded in the urban environment, which make it so fun to walk around (and pop out even more from the banal buildings around).

The small urban footprint has preserved nature (even if there are massive civil structures everywhere, bridges, roads, dams, etc), which is easy to access walking around, 10-20 min walk from a city train station.

Visiting Japan (again), I've come to realize the cities (buildings) are mostly ugly, with many concrete structures with no character. Yet, cities are generally dense, with not too big houses, diverse buildings and things to reach within short distances that make it a joy to explore by foot.
