Frustrated with the plodding script for The Gilded Age, I rewatched Scorsese's adaptation of Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence for the 8th(?) time. It's so good it hurts. The sublime meeting of two masters of their respective craft, starring some of the best actors ever.
I will never not be outraged it wasn't nominated for Best Pic and that Pfeiffer didn't get an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. It's an impossible role yet she makes Ellen flesh and blood. 👑
