The Perdiz is a Late Prehistoric point found in western Louisiana, Texas except the Panhandle & northern Mexico. Turner, Hester & McReynolds (2011) say it is linked to the Toyah Phase in Central TX, but for some reason the point style spread out from there in non-Toyah context.

The difference between this Carter Engraved & the Mound Place Incised I posted this week is that Carter is grog tempered, while Mound Place is shell tempered. #ceramics #archaeology
