The difference between this Carter Engraved & the Mound Place Incised I posted this week is that Carter is grog tempered, while Mound Place is shell tempered. #ceramics #archaeology

Here is 2-gal of Bayou Teche clay from the Chitimacha Reservation. It was almost black coming out of a slack-water area. Collected it while I was finding them a good local clay source. #ceramics #archaeology
