I started my music account in Bird Hell with a pretty cynical goal: get followers to look bigger than I was. I managed that but it understandably felt rather empty. I did make some friends along the way, however, and as cliche as it is, that was what mattered.

But it's a new ballgame now. Trying to find my friends elsewhere and get away from the Bad Place. This whole social media thing should be fun, not soul-sucking. Might hurt my ability to find listeners, might not. We'll see?

The two worst things about Mastodon that I’ve found so far

1) I have to manually go to a federated post from my instance if I want to interact with it after clicking someone’s link to theirs.

2) I can’t have links open in my client and probably never will because the URLs are all different.

Not sure how one can solve either of these.

If you found me from Twitter, cool! If you found me by accident, also cool! Nice to see you.

I'm an electronic musician making mostly synthpop but some industrial/EBM type tracks. Bandcamp and Spotify links are in my profile, although searching for me on Insert Music Service Here will find me.

I'm giving this a shot just to establish myself in case Twitter completely goes to shit. Doesn't hurt that a few people I follow have bailed entirely, either.

We'll see how this goes.
