I am excited that I got a spot for the #LightningTalk​s.
Looking forward to present you #Kubenix a tool leveraging #NixOS modules to declare #K8s workloads fully declarative.
I will also show how its #Helm integration essentially bridges the #CloudNative and #Nix ecosystem effectively, while offering additionally type safety.

I have just submitted my #CfP​s for #KubeCon + #CloudNativeCon Europe 2025 🎉

The first submission deals about defining #Kubernetes manifests with Kubenix by leveraging #Nix modules.
The second submission discusses #NixOS as a declarative and reproducible basis for #Kubernetes.

I am curious how the cloud native ecosystem will receive #Nix as a complementing technology.
I would love to see more synergy effects here.

Tomorrow I will talk at Continous Lifecycle / ContainerConf about how #nix can be leveraged to overcome challenges of #kubernetes packaging. #nix is not only a better fit for the YAML tooling, but enables a true end-to-end definition by building #oci #container​s as an alternative to #docker.
This allows deep insights, such as #sbom​s, provenance attestation and security vulnerability or license scanning.

In the talk, I introduce basic principles of #nixos by starting with the #nix language itself and moving on to #nixpkgs.
Finally, I outline the capabilities of #nix as a builder for #oci #container​s, making it a powerful and flexible alternative to #docker.
