My pastor (shown here) handed me a pile of books to study before I'm ordained. But then she looked me right in the eye and said, "There's pdf versions you can download".

Detractors of EVs — and there are a lot of them out there — declared that EVs are a flash in the pan, that interest is already waning, that the problems of EVs would prevent them from ever displacing internal combustion cars, that EVs will never be viable without subsidies, and so on. Essentially, the story was that the EV revolution was over, or at least stalled indefinitely.

That narrative has now essentially collapsed. EV sales reaccelerated in the U.S. after just a couple of months, and their market share has hit a new record high"

This may go down as the stupidest statement ever made in a Presidential debate. The doubling down on this that occurred in the days and weeks after is so far beyond bizarre I'll have trouble explaining it to my grandkids.

JD Vance claimed he was receiving reports from his constituents that this was occurring. The most rudimentary journalistic investigation showed this was not the case (see below). Instead of apologizing and issuing corrections, they've let this stay and now this poor town has received bomb threats, canceled public events, and is currently under an emergency order.

This is no different than when our own local Greenwood Senator Billy Garrett testified in a State Senate hearing that he had ""proof"" Greenwood schools were placing kitty litter in the bathroom for students that identified as cats. Later, he had to admit that his evidence was a grandmother who told him this at Republicans women's meeting.

Words carry power and it can cause great harm when they are irresponsibly used by people in positions of power.
