Would be nice if models would reliably watermark output to make detection possible, but I guess a lot of folks would "defect" and disable this

Really glad more folks got a chance to see the space; even many staff never get out there. Loads of books, servers, digitization equipment, side projects. The scale (and the frugality) of the whole endeavor is clearer, and this isn't even a large physical storage site for us these days.
And great to see it all spiffied up, a lot of work!

This is the twitter-like dweb social media protocol proposed by Bluesky. I think they have some interesting ideas around "big world" aggregation and discovery features, different from Mastodon. Still not sure if I think "big world" features are "good" or not.

Earlier this year I re-did my "personal digital archiving" setup using `git-annex` (https://git-annex.branchable.com/) and have been happy with it. It did take some work to wrap my head around it conceptually.
Can track which replicas live where, push out tidy-ups from any replica safely, and keeps a log of what changed when. Have also been using it to manage photos (https://bnewbold.net/photos/) for years.
