https://toot.community/@borngeek...I will never understand ppl who claim to have 'done their own research' on complicated scientific matters - rather than buying a new fridge - especially if they have in no way attempted to learn the vocabulary, science and math on which the science speciality is based & expressed. If you have the basics from school there are wonderful readily available texts, lecture notes, often YT etc that will take you to a level where you can do your own research. It's just rude. #stem #science #climate

The consequences are more difficult to explain due to localised impacts & weather complexity eg heatwaves, droughts, floods etc don't affect everyone at the same time & to the same extent. And ppl struggle w/ basic cause & effect especially for things w/ delayed consequences. What can we do? #ClimateEmergency #pollution #ecology #environment #ClimateCrisis

I'd think ok, huge bills but if they want to and neighbours are ok w/ it, then fine. Now I see xmas lights as more light pollution & FFs being burnt for fun. And the season of overconsumption is here again. Why have we let ourselves be used by companies, & how do we take back holidays & make them not about extravagant shows of wealth?#ClimateChange #climate #climatecrisis

Asking for CWs for angry rants about anything even TV, film, sport, food etc seems to fit better, and I will bear that in mind especially as I can get ranty about sport.
