A summary of the past few months and the next few years.
10.4.2025 18:54A summary of the past few months and the next few years.I see this old post from October 14is getting boosted/favorited a lot lately. There is a newer, longer, objectively more interesting version I posted a few days ago on my other account, @BorrisInABox@fwoof.space, which I actually use, unlike this one, in the #movuary hashtag, where I've been posting Move sequences every day for the month of February.

I don't post here anymore.
Haven't for a while.
I just keep this account as a backup.

Maybe that will change one day, but today is not that day.If I am following you, you should have received a follow from what will probably be my new primary account, @BorrisInABox@fwoof.space. I'm keeping this account active, which is why only my followers are migrating, but going forward, I will mostly post to the new one. If, for some reason, you are following me, but I'm not following you, feel free to follow that account anyway.

Well, crap. Republicans have a trifecta. Trump should have poached about seven more members of congress only to fire them a few months later.
Who's betting on the number of government shutdowns this term?
Also, I do a lot with terminals, so I guess it would be a great idea for me to finally get to grips with TDSR, because Voiceover in terminals is a less than ideal experience, even with some optimizations, at least this was the case last time I used it.
Or, I could just not do any of that and deal with Windows and it's continuing evolving inshitification.
So I keep going back and forth internally about this. I need a new laptop, and with things going the way they are, I should probably get one sooner rather than later.
I keep going back to the idea of getting a Macbook again, then running a Windows VM mostly for web browsing. Most other things I would want to do are viable on Mac OS.
But what is the state of VMWare Workstation and Mac OS Sequoya? Is Parallels still a better experience with a more annoying setup regarding accessibility?
December 05, 2024 is the 40th anniversary of the release of Beverly Hills Cop. To celebrate, I will attempt a full-length cover of Axel F with the Ableton Move using only stock sounds. There is no way I will get the synth sounds exactly right. The engines are just too limited for that. If I can get it "good enough," that's fine, I guess.

My old iPhone 13 Mini with WiFi calling rang. So did my Apple watch. You know what didn't ring? Yes, that's right, the device that is actually responsible for handling the call from the network in the first place. Yep, my iPhone 16 Pro, with the Verizon eSIM, stayed silent and locked. No alerts, no vibrations, no banners.
I unlocked the phone while the other two devices were still ringing, and you'd have no idea.
Isn't technology great?
If the past tense of the verb "speak is spoke, and break is broke, why isn't it squoke? How about scrome?
I scrome yesterday. When I spoke after that, my voice squoke.
Long loud scream yesterday. It was necessary. Lost my voice. I'll probably do it again next week. Just don't care anymore.

I mean, yeah, that song is almost 35 years old now, it's not as old as some stuff that was playing on oldies stations when I was a kid, and, yes, I've heard newer stuff on theoretical oldies stations, but man... Now I am actually feeling old.

Considering this was probably not in the intended use-case for a groovebox, I think it came out pretty good. I didn't use a real DAW for any of this. It isn't realistic, per se, but it's fun anyway.
