The famous user interface designer Alan Dye has internally just presented the new Icons for macOS 27 "BigBrother" to the deeply awed upper management and Tim Cook.

Dye said: "We have proceeded consequently on the path we have started a few years ago.
Instead of confusing colors and shapes, all application icons now look uniformily well designed and beautiful, without any distraction.
And we have clearly shown that rounded rects are superior to all other existing shapes, so we have built upon that."

Eigentlich hatte ich mir den "Ikarus" an der Oper #Bonn als Motiv ausgedacht, aber beim Verlassen des Platzes stolperte ich buchstäblich über diese schönen Schatten dieser alten Vierfachlaterne, "geschmückt" mit einem Wahlplakat.

Die Reflektionen der Sonne in den vier Glaskugeln haben mich dann überzeugt.

They still have the option to "Show toolbar button shapes" in the still mostly unusable "System Settings", which in the past had drawn a nice thin line around these to make them actually, I don't know, like, VISIBLE to the user?

But the giant ugly blobs in macOS 26 "smear" that are supposed to be "toolbar buttons" cannot even do that anymore.

So this option is a NO-OP now and doesn't change anything.

Great work, Alan Dye and Tim Cook.

Postpone this trash for one or two years, and start fixing the bugs.

They can only play the "hvc1" variant of this highly efficient video codec, but not the "hev1" version.

Sigh.

So the integrated Movie Converter in my #NeoFinder 8.9.1 now makes sure to generate the proper h.265 variant that is understood by Apple and macOS.
