If someone is pursuing a private diagnosis, they will generally be pretty confident that they'll have a positive outcome. Nobody is spending £1k on a speculative diagnosis.

I've not been around much because ✨Life Chaos™️✨, but yesterday the publication of an article and documentary by the BBC about a "journalist" faking ADHD to get a diagnosis has enraged me.

I paid to go through a private diagnosis because my undiagnosed and untreated ADHD was destroying my life. The NHS kept rebuffing me and even if I did get referred, it would have taken years because of the chronic underfunding the NHS has received since 2010.

The wheelchairs that we've been looking at are far more expensive than anything we've bought in the past, with the base models starting at around £5000 without any customisations.

This is our home, I want it to be right for Donna and I will do whatever I can to make it so. Whether that's ripping out and refitting door frames so that she can get into the kitchen, laying better flooring so that she doesn't slip and fall or (soon) overhauling the garden so that we can enjoy our outdoor space together.

Unfortunately building her a suitable wheelchair is currently outside my skill set.

My time off recently has involved pulling up flooring so that our boiler pipework can be replaced; disassembling, transporting and reassembling a modular ramp so that Donna can easily get in the house (she was walking up a few steps before but that's now more difficult), in the process turning part of our garden into a tribute to Glastonbury; and trips to the doctors/hospital
