🥾 #Hiked a new-to-me trail yesterday. The sun was bright, the snow was gone & the river was running fast. Walked 8KM along the #MillRunTrail by the #SpeedRiver in Cambridge (ON) & spotted the following birds:

Red Tailed Hawk
Blue Jays

8.4.2023 15:17🥾 #Hiked a new-to-me trail yesterday. The sun was bright, the snow was gone & the river was running fast. Walked 8KM along the...🥾 Headed to the outskirts of #Cambridge (#Ontario) and got in three short #hikes. All three spots are hidden gems in the area.
#Bird sightings were almost nonexistent though. Still pretty excited to spot the birds that I did 👍.

Few birds, but looky-looky what we have sleeping over there!

We weren’t expecting to see a family of #beavers sleeping on the river bank. That was pretty special! (Only had my phone for the picture 😕)

What a difference a week makes! Snow is all gone!
The #Birds were quiet but we did spot the odd one out there along with some other critters:

Crows
Red Bellied Woodpeckers
Mallards
Canada Geese (so many flying over!!)
Ring-billed gulls
Starlings
Red, black & grey squirrels
The #beavers have certainly been busy though!

1.1.2023 18:47Just came back from my #FirstDayHike for 2023. Hiked 6.8KM along the #GrandRiver in #Waterloo this time.What a difference a week makes! Snow...After 3 days of blustery winter weather it was nice to get a #hike in at #PioneerTower along the #GrandRiver in #Kitchener, #Ontario.
We hiked 8.8KM along the river & spotted some #birds that we thought would have migrated south by now:
