The Trump supporters I know are not obviously 'bad' people, they seem to ignore the hateful, bigoted things he says. It's an example of cognitive bias for things we want to believe, for those who are on our side. As much as we all do it, one side allows introspection and self criticism the other must follow the dear leader who is never wrong. I've been waiting for an "emperor has no clothes' moment for Trump, but sadly prominent Republicans have been covering for him. If he loses I expect that moment will come quickly
Have to admit that there's little I can do to change the mind of those who don't want to change their minds

It would be the most delicious irony if the #bakhmut battle in #ukraine turned out to resemble the #stalingrad battle of WW2

The Soviets held onto less and less of the city over 4 months. They had enough troops to keep the Germans in place, expending men and munitions. Then the Soviets attacked and encircled the Stalingrad attackers, in a major victory. Would love to see a repeat of history with the Ukrainians encircling the Russians
