They definitely flinched at Ethan Clade being interested in a guy. But I’d expected that.

But more importantly I think they flinched from the movie’s overall theme, that of discovery & care instead of domination. Bc the entire movie was all re finding out, protecting, healing, & working w instead of conquering the immune system of a whole world—

Still scratching my head today that I heard very little re this gorgeous movie last year, or just from people concerned that Disney wasn’t promoting it. I get not wanting to give away the surprises, but I feel like maybe Disney flinched.

The thing is, I think they flinched for two reasons.

Sunday was cold and rainy, a day for Gortex and fleeces. Still, on my way back to my car after going to a chamber concert, I stopped by one of my favorite local outdoor gardens.
